Measurement and Evaluation

KDG incorporates measurement and evaluation strategies in Learning Solution Analysis, the Development of Learning Programs and the Design of Operational Plans. Evaluation is an integral component of the design, development, delivery and implementation of all programs. When a comprehensive measurement and evaluation process is in place, it justifies the program budgets and provides important information to the champions and sponsors of a program.

The types and level of evaluation for a program are determined by the goals and scope of an initiative. Formative and summative evaluations are utilized together with formal and informal pilots, surveys, questionnaires, focus groups, interviews, and analysis of best practices. KDG utilizes best practice, researched-based models by Brinkerhoff, Kirkpatrick, Phillips, Bersin, and others to customize each evaluation plan.

The evaluation pyramid illustrates the levels in the evaluation process and the types of data measured. While most formal programs will measure activity, participant satisfaction and knowledge/program gains, it is less typical to measure the higher levels; except for large enterprise initiatives.

“If you can't measure it, you can't manage it.”
